Ventilation systems play a crucial role in maintaining indoor air quality. Over time, these systems can accumulate dirt, dust, and microbiological contaminants, which can adversely affect air quality and potentially harm health. To prevent such issues, regular inspections and cleanings are necessary.

Our thorough inspection process helps determine whether a ventilation system requires cleaning. We measure the levels of dirt in the air ducts, expressed in g/m², to see if they exceed certain thresholds. Additionally, we may conduct microbiological inspections to assess the presence of microbiological contaminants like fungi and bacteria.

Microbiological Inspection: The Swab Test

For a detailed microbiological assessment, we perform a swab test. This test helps us measure the colony-forming units (CFUs) per 100 cm² in your air ducts. Based on the German standard VDI 6022, we interpret the results as follows:

• More than 400 CFU/100 cm²: Urgent cleaning required to maintain a healthy environment.
• Between 100 and 400 CFU/100 cm²: Cleaning should be planned in the near future.
• Below 100 CFU/100 cm²: No action required, indicating that your ventilation system is in good condition.

Method of Analysis

The method of analysis we use is an official ISO-standard (ISO 4833-1) for total plate count. This involves using a pour plate technique with plate count agar incubated at 30°C for 3 days. This standardized [JN4] method ensures accuracy and reliability in assessing the microbiological cleanliness of your air ducts.
